RHA Cuts the Ribbon on New Affordable Housing Complex

RENO, Nev. — The Reno Housing Authority (RHA) is proud to announce the grand opening of Railyard Flats, 15 brand new units of affordable housing for extremely low to low-income households.

“RHA is pleased to have built our first affordable housing in Sparks since John McGraw Court in 1995,” said RHA Executive Director Dr. Hilary Lopez. “This infill development provides much needed new, affordable apartments within easy walking distance of downtown Sparks, public transit, and other amenities.”

The majority of the funding for this project was provided by RHA using its MTW funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Additional funding from the state of Nevada’s Home Means Nevada Initiative and the Washoe County HOME Consortium helped make this project possible.

The project on 10th Street honors Sparks’ rich history as a railroad town and is close to the former railyards that helped develop Sparks into the thriving city we know today. RHA is proud to honor that history with this housing complex.

Opportunity knocks at RHA and continues to shape the future of affordable housing in Washoe County.
