Information for Landlords
The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program provides participants with rental assistance so they can obtain units in the private rental market. A portion of the rent is paid by the participant and a portion is paid by RHA directly to the landlord. This amount depends on the individual’s situation and the unit chosen, and may change in accordance with HUD regulations.
Landlords do not need to pre-qualify or sign up with the RHA in advance – just complete the paperwork given to you by a potential renter and have them turn it in.
To learn more about renting to a voucher-holder and how to participate as a landlord, consider attending our monthly New Landlord Briefing (information below) or contact us for a new landlord packet. This packet includes:
- A sample of the HAP contract and the Request for Tenancy Approval form
- Printouts of the New Landlord Briefing and Landlord Fair slideshows
- Housing Choice Voucher fact sheets
- Several important forms (such as the Request for Change in Contract Rent form)
- Important RHA contact information

Monthly New Landlord Briefing – Voucher Programs
Has someone with a voucher approached you about renting your unit? Are you interested in becoming a landlord to a voucher-holder? RHA hosts a virtual New Landlord Briefing on the last Wednesday of every month at 1:30pm. This briefing covers what it means to rent a unit to a voucher-holder and how you can participate, as well as answers some of the most frequently asked questions.
To register for the monthly New Landlord Briefing, please email landlords@renoha.org. One day before the briefing you will receive a link for the meeting, hosted through our software RingCentral. You will also receive a digital version of our new landlord packet (unless you request that a hard copy be mailed to you).
